We are delighted to announce that Streamflow is partnering with Superteam to manage their developer grants via our Instagrants process.
Streamflow is a token distribution platform. Their initial suite of products includes a protocol for streaming payments, solutions for token vesting & progressive payroll. But most importantly they are building a financial primitive that anybody can compose on top of. Developers can use their SDK to effortlessly integrate token streaming into their protocols and dApps. You can read the Superteam deep-dive on Streamflow by Members Yash & Sitesh.
To help builders explore the possibilities of streaming as a new financial primitive, Streamflow is offering grants of up to $10K for anyone building on their SDK.
We are yet to uncover the full potential of internet native-money. A key benefit is instant conditional release of payments, e.g. get paid for every second of service provided. This possibly feels excessive right now but will be obvious in hindsight as the ecosystem develops. To get your imagination going, here are some of the broad applications outlined by the Streamflow team.
You can also find detailed RFPs below or on the Instagrant page. These are broad categories under which you can apply for a grant.
Drop-in Payment Forms: Create plug-and-play forms allowing any project to simply drop in a form enabling them to offer streaming or vesting payments within their app
Subscription Management Platform: Use Streamflow protocol to handle subscriptions for content creators, streamers, and so on. For example, a Pay-Per-X App would allow business owners to share instructions for subscribing (link or QR code) to their users. The user could then subscribe by scanning the QR code with their wallet. They would then regularly top-up the stream while the business owner could integrate his services with a monitoring module which would automatically remove access if the stream is cancelled/expired. If the wallet runs out of money, the stream finishes, and the unlocked content is locked again.
Automated Workflows: Create a tool for creating automated workflows for organisations to manage and dispense their budget across an organisation. Example: A new crypto team has set up a basic org structure. Departments: Marketing, Engineering, BD. The tool allows them to set up recurring transfers from the master wallet so the monthly budgets are dispensed to each department. Bonus points if you can assign percentages based on monthly revenue to the organisation.
Generate PDF Report based on Completed Streams: On request, the tool generates a PDF document with all the details about the stream.
Stake Tool with Auto Withdrawal: Users can stake (lock) SPL tokens, a stream is created to the address that deploys the asset. The accrued stake is auto-dropped into the user's wallets.
Farm Tool with Auto Withdrawal: Implement a tool to deploy a farm (pool token) and earn rewards on it. For example, earning $ORCA on a pool on Orca. The earned farm token is auto withdrawn to the wallet that deployed the capital.
Create Payable Links: A user can create a payable link, if the counterparty confirms the transaction, then the stream starts according to the configuration chosen by the creator.
Integrate Streamflow to Defillama: Hook up Streamflow TVL and other statistics to Defillama.
Obviously, you don’t need to restrict yourself to any of these ideas. Imagine the most creative & compelling use case for the Streamflow SDK and apply!
Pre-approved Ideas. However, if you’re excited about this but need a little help coming up with ideas to work on, we’ve got you covered. Here are 5 ideas that are already approved for grants. All you need to do is show us that you can build them. Note that applying with these ideas doesn’t guarantee your application will be approved. Each application will be evaluated based on the capabilities of the team, prior applications on similar topics & various other factors. Please keep this in mind before applying.
Integrate with a no-code game builder. Gaming is one of the hottest sectors in web3. But we’re yet to see a breakout web3 game achieve the virality or success that the best web2 games have today. No-code game builders like Solcery are making it possible for anyone to launch a game. Tools like this that reduce the cost of quickly prototyping and testing are invaluable. Because anyone can launch and test a game idea before investing time & effort in building it out fully. Gaming is also a great use-case for streaming payments on-chain, in sync with gameplay. Pick a no-code game builder of your choice & integrate streaming tokens via the Streamflow SDK. If you’ve picked one but need help reaching out to them, apply anyway and we’ll help set you up.
Pay-per-minute meetings via Huddle. Web3 promises to empower creators by allowing them to own their relationship with their community. Token-gating access to content, experiences and more is a critical element to this. Huddle is building a decentralised Zoom. They already support token-gated events. Take this one step further by building “pay-as-you-go” sessions. Basically, enable anyone to host a session where attendees are charged by the minute.
SOAP Integration. The Solana attendance protocol has recently gone viral across a bunch of IRL events. Today, anyone who is at the event can mint a SOAP. This tells people you were there but not for how long. Can you enable events to stream the attendance NFT for every minute that someone attends their event. Combine the SOAP Protocol & the CandyPay dispenser with Streamflow’s SDK & geo-tagging. Issue fractional proofs based on how long somebody was at the event.
A fitness dAPP. Build a dAPP that allows one person or a group of friends to gamify their fitness goals. For single player mode - they can set a daily step target & connect their apple or google fit. They are streamed back their tokens each day based on % target achieved. To make it more fun, allow groups of friends to do this. Anyone can form a group and invite friends to a challenge. Everyone has to stake tokens to participate. Tokens are streamed each day based on % target completed. Those who slack off , lose their tokens to those who walk more.
Meta-Ticket with MetaPass. Build a ticket on metapass that can be redeemed fractionally across a series of events. E.g. I have a ticket that entitles me to 10 hours of live sessions with Tanmay Bhat over 1 year. It gets burnt proportionately for every minute of live-streams that I watch.
