What is Superteam?

Superteam is a network of individuals and companies building products in the Solana ecosystem. Simply put, it is a gated discord server for those who satisfy the membership criteria. There’s no treasury, take-rate/commissions or a token sale. From its inception, Superteam has chosen to be a collective of sovereigns over a sovereign collective. All members may participate as much as or as little as they wish, including the core team. Any revenue generated is captured by the individual members or teams that self-organise and win a bounty, secure a grant or venture funding for their ideas.

The community is the product. And members have exclusive access to the product.

This is the North star metric for Superteam. It represents the value created for & by community members who found earning opportunities through Superteam.

Driving this number is a community of 167 members & 121 contributors. A growing talent network with 2400+ registered people looking for opportunities in web3. And 50+ partner projects who’ve tapped into this talent pool.

Superteam Vietnam 🇻🇳

We announced last month that Superteam is going global & Vietnam is the first (of many 🤫 ) location. It is worth pointing out that international expansion for a community looks very different from a company, it is more organic etc - more on this in a future essay.

The team, led by Anh Tran & Minh, has been razor focused at onboarding developers through learning and earning opportunities. They’ve most recently announced the second edition of their coding camp. There’s already 1000+ registrations competing for the $100k in prizes.

Metapass 🎟

They’re building access-as-a-service, with the first product being NFT tickets. Here are their updates for Oct:

New customer: IndiGG will be using Metapass to manage ticketing for their events.
Significantly improved the event creation experience including organiser profilers, ticket airdrops, a better listing flow, venue privacy and notification scheduling

Their goal is to use a combination of NLP and their own legal expertise to build a product that can convert what is today a long and expensive process into an automated instant one. Yep, they’re coding themselves out of a job… kidding.

StellarSol 🪐

They’re making it easy to shop on ANY website with crypto. Their first product is a browser plug-in that automates the checkout process of a website. They use your crypto to purchase gift cards in the backend & complete purchases for you.

They just launched revamped UX & support for Amazon US and are now accepting early applications for beta users in Canada and Germany.

Onboarded a community of chess lovers to web3 via chess mates - a dynamic NFT which captures their discord reputation on-chain. Inspired from a previous essay we published.
Made their gasless minting APIs public & added airdrop functionality to their OSS libs.
Improved their docs making it even easier to launch a gasless mint using their infra.
And rumour has it that their working on an e-commerce checkout product…
