What is Superteam?

Superteam is a network of individuals and companies building products in the Solana ecosystem. Simply put, it is a gated discord server for those who satisfy the membership criteria. There’s no treasury, take-rate/commissions or a token sale. From its inception, Superteam has chosen to be a collective of sovereigns over a sovereign collective. All members may participate as much as or as little as they wish, including the core team. Any revenue generated is captured by the individual members or teams that self-organise and win a bounty, secure a grant or venture funding for their ideas.

The community is the product. And members have exclusive access to the product.

Superteam is quickly becoming the talent layer for Solana. Over the last one year we’ve built a vibrant community of Indian developers & contributors in the Solana & broader web3 ecosystem. This is evident from the community GDP, # of projects formed, hackathon winners, OSS contributions, work opportunities created, etc.

We’re excited to share that Superteam is now launching in Vietnam. On our community call earlier this week, we introduced the core team Anh Tran & Minh.

Superteam Vietnam sets out to help elevate the Solana name locally, while helping the vibrant community of developers and contributors learn, earn & build the next wave of great projects.

Metapass 🎟

They’re building access-as-a-service, with the first product being NFT tickets. Last month they launched an event dashboard & analytics module for organisers.

In September, they integrated with web3auth for sign up/ login. This allows anyone to register for an event using an email id. A self-custodial wallet is created in the background where the NFT ticket is deposited, along with an email update of-course. This is a crucial step in bridging the gap and onboarding new users. They saw a massive spike in registrations for the Mumbai Supermeet immediately after launching this feature on mainnet.

They’ve also integrated with huddle so that anyone can conduct ticketed video events using Metapass. A great example of composability in action. Lastly, they successfully listed a mission to onboard an engineer to their core team. Hello Apoorv!

CandyPay 🍭

They’re building the NFT UX for mobile. Their first set of products were focused on simplifying the minting experience through QR codes, 1-click tap to mint links, and most recently a no-code mint builder.

In Sep, they powered minting free attendance NFTs for everyone at the Dilli hacker house. They’ve also just announced a partnership with coinable & an early peek into their plans for building xNFTs.

This month, they’ve announced a partnership with Cardinal, early access to all projects who submitted to the Solana Summer hackathon & their plans for building xNFTs. And I hear they have a very exciting announcement coming up this week…
